Use Less Keystrokes for AP Invoice Entry!

What can you say about something that is so EZ and yet so helpful?! Your SSI Oil and Gas Accounting Software literally has an endless number of ways to help make YOUR job EZier.
Included in the 2025 Software Release, this enhancement is one of those short‐cuts you might have missed or forgotten.
SPREAD is an option on the lower right side of the AP03 – Transaction Entry – Distribution screen. If you have 10 lines of distribution and a total invoice cost of $1,000, guess what it does? It takes the total invoice amount, does some easy math and spreads the total invoice dollar amount evenly amongst all the line items – in our example auto‐allocates $100 to each distribution line item. This keeps YOU from having to key in the same dollar amount to every line item!
It works for any kind of distribution – well/cat, land/DOI/cat, general ledger general and administrative accounts or a combo of the above. Enter the distribution codes on each line and skip the amount per distribution line. The entry time on the distribution screen is cut by half because there’s no need to enter an amount, just skip on down to the next line. Keep moving till all the distribution codes are entered, then click the SPREAD box.
Voila! The total invoice is now distributed evenly amongst all the line items on the distribution screen. Any rounding pennies go to the first distribution line.
Next time you have an invoice amount spread evenly to multiple lines of distribution, try it! Even if it’s just 2 lines, it’ll cut your keystrokes by half!
