Today’s topic showcases a trick that is EZ, VERY helpful, and one that you might have overlooked or forgotten.
As you’re looking through your GL04 – General Ledger transactions, how many times have you wanted to look at an ARM’d audit of entered transactions in the SSI General Ledger? It’s probably A LOT. To do so most likely involved writing down the audit number, getting out of General Ledger, right clicking on the source button for the entry, finding the audit, and double‐clicking. Or opening up another session of SSI and going back and forth between sessions.
Whew!!! Just the thought is exhausting and certainly NOT a time‐saver!
Here’s a reminder!
Did you know?? When looking at transactions in GL04 – lots of information is included in the transaction, specifically the source – that’d be the button used to generate the entry (AP03, GL03, AR03, etc.) ‐ as well as the audit number.
A very quick way to review the ACTUAL ARM’D AUDIT showing the detail of the transactions entered without having to leave the GL04 screen?
Double click on the audit number of the transaction!! Yep! Right there in your viewer screen. A sub‐dialog box will appear that will include all instances of the audit number for that source button, inclusive of year/month/day (YYYYMMDD), along with the user who made the entry. Pick the appropriate one you’re wanting, and WOO‐HOO!!! There’s your audit showing in the viewer in all of its auditable glory! The efficiency is unbelievable! Not only do you not have to leave your desk, you don’t even have to leave your current screen application. It’s seriously just a few quick clicks.
Once you get what you need from the audit in the viewer, go out the door and you’re right back to the GL04 transactions.
